How do I use it?
Insert Box Muncher on a synth, vocal, drum bus, or percussion track. Start with Munch around 20–40%, use Colour to move the emphasis, and blend with Mix. Munch at zero or Mix at zero restores the latency-compensated original signal. Match levels with your DAW’s gain controls.
Is this an OTT clone?
No. It takes inspiration from the broad idea of multiband upward and downward compression, combined with its own saturation and three macro controls.
What happens at the endpoints?
At minimum Munch: “tongue punch” with a cheeky tongue-out face. At maximum: “day 5 fest box” with red eyes, dilated pupils, and a screaming face.
What are the bands?
Fixed complementary crossovers at 180 Hz, 1.8 kHz, and 6.5 kHz separate a protected low path from three processed bands. The transitions overlap; they are not brick-wall filters.
Which systems and formats?
Development builds include Mac AU and VST3 for Apple Silicon and Intel, and Windows x64 VST3. Direct audio-engine and processor checks have passed. September 2026 development revision. Automated DSP/processor checks and isolated Mac AU/VST3 load checks passed. Native Windows and REAPER/Ableton testing, signing/notarization and final delivery checks remain before sale.
